Throughout the year, KEYE TV travels to quaint Central Texas towns for our series, My Hometown. December is a special time for us. We highlight the unique holiday events across our area.
On Dec. 15, we traveled to Taylor.
Taylor grew out of the booming railroad and cattle industry in the 1870s. The International & Great Northern Railway created the Taylor Station, named for a railroad official. Taylor became a city in 1884.
The city is in the eastern part of Williamson County along U.S. Hwy 79. About 16,000 people live there.
